Stylish Blogger Award

Sometimes out of the clear blue sky something nice and unexpected happens to you.  Today is one of those days. The Foodie Spot just had the fortunate pleasure of receiving The Stylish Blogger Award from the lovely Roberta who writes MoreThymeThanDough. It's a delightful blog chock full of interesting tid bits, recipes, and insightful messages. Having been presented this award by Roberta makes it that much more special.  Thank you my dear.
There are obligations with such things.  As to be expected, Roberta explained the details expertly.

And The Stylish Blogger Requirements are:

1. Thank and link back to the person who awarded you this award.
2. Share 7 things about yourself.
3. Award 15 recently discovered great bloggers.
4. Contact these bloggers and tell them about the award!

Seven things that some of you do and don't know about me:

I would like to spend a month in Oaxaca, Mexico making Tobala, a Single Village Mezcal  by Del Maguey.
I would like to eat Black Oaxaca Mole made by Rick Bayless.
Controlling road rage is still a work in progress for me.
When Dave Matthews has a concert in Houston Michelle and I are there.
Grandad gave me a baseball autographed by Hank Aaron, Steve Garvey, and Pete Rose.  Then I lost it.
Real spicy food will give me the hiccups.
My grandmother Granny Pat would have been a brilliant blogger.

Now comes the pressure.  Identifying 15 recently discovered great bloggers is challenging.  I hope that the term "recently discovered" means discovered by me.  There will be some that were discovered long before I nudged my way into the blogosphere.  I was a little late to this party.  My list includes many that I've had the pleasure to connect with.  Some I haven't taken the time to sit down and visit with just yet, but they provide great resources for recipes, stories, and entertainment.

The Scene From Me

Blogging is like going to a football game in a crowded stadium.  You can cheer as loud as you can and think that no one hears you.  Then on your way back from the concession stand someone runs into you and accidentally spills your popcorn all over.  This person smiles and says "lets go get another one for you".  It's a gesture not to be taken lightly, so you ask their name and they yours. Suddenly a new connection is born in the midst of many.  I've been introduced to some folks I would not have met had I not gotten in the blogging game.

Thanks to all my new friends.

Cheers! Scott

  1. you have no idea how much this made my day! thank you, thank you, thank you for including me. i loved reading the 7 things about you, especially that your granny pat would've been a great blogger. my grandmother, helen, was an incredibly chic + sophisticated woman with a great fashion sense + an amazing skill at cooking. i like to think that some of those traits maybe (hopefully?) trickled down to me. =)

    hugs!

  6. Good morning Scott! Thank you so much for the award. I just started blogging in November and have met some really great people along the way. I am glad to have connected with you and am looking forward to blogging and sharing in the future. I, too, am working on my road rage, though admittedly not too hard. :) Enjoy your day!
